Dykema, a leading national law firm, announced today that Bonnie Kirkland, San Antonio-based senior attorney in the firm’s Litigation Department, began her term as President of the San Antonio Young Lawyer’s Association (SAYLA) earlier this month. Before taking over as President, Kirkland served SAYLA in a variety of positions in the past, including treasurer and board member.
SAYLA provides opportunities and avenues for young and newly licensed attorneys to network with other attorneys and non-attorneys, socialize, learn and earn CLE credits, give back to the community, and enjoy their chosen profession. The organization was formed nearly 70 years ago as the San Antonio Junior Bar Association, an entity of the San Antonio Bar Association (SABA). In 1974, the members of the Junior Bar officially formed the corporate structure that is now SAYLA, a separate non-profit organization entirely run by volunteers.
