On June 6, 2018, Prysmian completed the acquisition of General Cable through a merger in virtue of which General Cable survived as a wholly owned subsidiary of Prysmian.

Kuri Breña, Sanchez Ugarte y Aznar acted as Mexican legal counsel for General Cable in the process before the Mexican Antitrust Commission to obtain clearance for the transaction.
